Justin B. Petersen

Justin B. Petersen is Of Counsel at Pierce Coleman PLLC. His practice focuses on municipal prosecution.

 

Justin previously practiced at the Maricopa County Office of the Public Defender, where he gained valuable experience as a trial attorney. In addition to jury trials and plea negotiations, he has litigated a range of procedural, evidentiary, and statutory issues at the pre-trial and post-conviction stages, from Grand Jury remand to probation revocation.

Justin is admitted to practice in Arizona.

Justin graduated with honors from the University of Louisville Brandeis School of Law. While completing his J.D., he served as Senior Editor of the University of Louisville Law Review, which published his Note, Miranda Invocations: An Intentionalist Approach, in 2020. Justin was a Samuel L. Greenebaum Public Service Fellow, and he received a CALI Award for legal research and writing.

Before law school, Justin earned an M.A. in Linguistics, summa cum laude, and a B.A. in English, magna cum laude, at Arizona State University.

Justin is an Arizona native. He enjoys reading, playing the piano, and spending time with family.
