Matthew Podracky is Of Counsel at Pierce Coleman PLLC.  Matt was born and raised on the Jersey Shore.  He graduated from Seton Hall University School of Law in 1996.  His first attorney job was with a small law firm in New Jersey that held various contracts with local cities and towns to serve as their municipal attorneys, municipal prosecutors and legal advisors to various Planning and Zoning Commissions and Boards of Adjustment.

In 1998, Matt moved to Arizona and began practicing law with the Colorado River Indian Tribes in Parker, Arizona.  His first municipal law job was as an Assistant City Attorney in the Lake Havasu City Attorney’s Office, where he eventually rose to the position of City Attorney.

Prior to joining the firm, Matt spent the last twenty years as an attorney for the City of Prescott Legal Department in the Civil Division, serving as the Acting City Attorney on multiple occasions.

Having spent the bulk of his career working directly for local governments in Arizona, Matt has a unique perspective on the institutional workings of cities and towns and the legal issues facing municipalities.  His experience runs the full gamut of legal work needed  by Arizona cities and towns, including, drafting legislation, advising elected officials, boards and commissions; advising management and department heads; land use law; open meeting law; public records law; conflicts of interest law; water law; airport law; advising police and fire departments; election law, civil rights law; employment law; municipal contracting; transactional law; economic development; and, public works law.

Matt is excited that his career has come full circle and he is once again advising multiple local government agencies. In his spare time, Matt enjoys the great outdoors, hiking, and visiting National Parks.
