Rodney States is Of Counsel at Pierce Coleman PLLC. He has been practicing law since 2015, having spent all that time advising and representing local government entities and personnel as in-house and as outside counsel on a wide range of legal issues including government operations and liability, public safety, criminal justice, jail/detention, civil litigation, constitutional law, contracts/transactions, intergovernmental agreements and joint operations, labor/employment, zoning and land use, public education, elections, public records, and open meetings.

Prior to joining the firm, he advised and represented counties, municipalities, and public schools in private practice and he was a Deputy Pinal County Attorney where he also prosecuted criminal cases and appeals in addition to simultaneously serving as civil counsel. Before becoming an attorney, Rodney spent over two years clerking in the Pinal County Attorney’s Office during law school, and before starting law school he was a state, tribal, and federally certified peace officer for 8 years in the Salt River Pima-Maricopa Indian Community.

Rodney is admitted to practice in the State Courts of Arizona as well as the Federal District Court for the District of Arizona
